🙋It’s been a while since I last shared my thoughts with you all here on the blog.
I honestly didn't expect the Awaken collection to resonate so deeply with you since our official launch back in April.Today, I want to take you behind the scenes to share the inspiration and craftsmanship behind this collection.⚒️💎

The Inspiration: A Conversation with You
Back in 2023, I was hosting a pop-up at K11 MUSEA. I noticed a customer who was carefully considering our pieces, picking them up one by one, so I went over to see if she needed any guidance.

K11 MUSEA Pop Up store in 2023
"Miss, may I help you?" I asked.😄
"Yes," she replied. "I’m actually looking for a gemstone necklace with an open-back design. I want the stone to touch my skin so it can transfer its energy directly to my body and soul."🤔
That moment stayed with me.😳
I realised that we didn’t have many 'open-back' designs, and her desire to feel that direct connection to the stone became the spark for the entire Awaken collection.
I was so intrigued by her perspective that we ended up chatting for quite a while. She was from Malaysia, and she told me that her husband often shopped for her at our SOGO (Causeway Bay) pop-up in 2020. She also mentioned that she read all of our zodiac blog posts and felt a genuine connection to our content.

It touched my heart💓
I had always assumed our customers only engaged with our social media, but learning how deeply she connected with our words reminded me why I started this in the first place.
Her words lingered in my heart, and last year, the pieces finally clicked.🥳
Magic Stone Rose Quartz Ring
So many of you had fallen in love with our "Magic Stone" ring and frequently asked if we would ever release a matching necklace. That was the final piece of the puzzle: I decided to create a hexagonal gemstone necklace designed specifically to rest against the skin.

The Hexagon: The Tree of Life

Talisman Moss Agate Pendant & Kabbalah Tree of Life
I’ve always been drawn to the hexagonal shape. To me, it feels like a symbol of balance and protection—much like a shield. 🛡️That is why I named this piece the 'Talisman'.
The hexagon is also deeply connected to the 'Kabbalah Tree of Life'. It serves as a beautiful map of the universe and the human soul 🗺️, composed of 10 interconnected spiritual principles (the Sefirot) and 22 paths of connection. It illustrates the flow of divine energy from an infinite source into our finite world (Source: Kabbalah Experience). It acts as a bridge, guiding the flow of creativity from potential into manifestation.
My hope is that when you wear our Talisman necklace, you feel like you are wearing a sacred map of the soul—that you feel grounded, protected, and truly healed.🥰

Trial and Error
Designing this piece came with its challenges.
If I had used a traditional prong setting, the aesthetic would have been compromised, and the gem wouldn't have been able to touch the skin. I also knew that the star detail on the gem had to be perfect—gluing it on just wouldn’t meet our standards.
My team and I found our solution in the mechanics of screw-back and flat-back earrings. We worked with the gem cutter to precisely drill two holes through the stone: one at the tip and one in the center. 👏
I had also received so much feedback from you asking if you could swap out the chains on our existing necklaces. So I wanted to make the Talisman necklace versatile, I added a unique horseshoe clasp. You can simply unscrew the pin to release the hexagonal gem pendant, slide it onto a chain of your choice, and secure it back in place.

The Gems: Earth’s Energy 🧘
For the stones, we chose 4 varieties of quartz and feldspar, as they are durable enough and large enough to be cut into hexagon. Each stone carries its own unique frequency:
✦Moonstone ✦ A member of the feldspar family and June’s birthstone, 🌙 Moonstone is a symbol of love, intuition, and new beginnings. With its milky, translucent appearance and internal "fog" like inclusions, it has a dreamy, romantic quality. It features a natural iridescent effect known as adularescence—🌈the beautiful rainbow play of light.
☞Best for: Those seeking healing, a fresh start, or new love.
✦ Moss Agate ✦ A variety of chalcedony from the quartz group, Moss Agate features stunning, moss-like inclusions that look like a miniature underwater forest. 🌳Before I started studying gemology, I genuinely believed those inclusions were trapped moss or ancient plant debris😅—much like a prehistoric insect or plant caught in amber.
I’ve since learned that these branching green patterns are actually metallic mineral oxides like iron or manganese. 🌱Because they grow randomly in nature, every single stone is entirely unique. Symbolically, it represents nature, growth, and stability. Historically, it was a "warrior's stone," carried by ancient farmers for crop fertility and by warriors for strength.
☞Best for: Those navigating a new career path, personal growth, or starting a new chapter.

Blue Lace Agate Universe Necklace
✦ Blue Lace Agate ✦ Also a type of chalcedony, this stone is beloved for its soft, banded patterns and soothing, ethereal energy. I don’t know if you remember, but we actually featured a design with blue lace agate in the past. 🤭I was so drawn to the stone then—and still am today—that I just had to include it in the Awaken collection. It reminds me so much of the ocean. It’s deeply connected to the throat chakra, which is said to help with clear and honest communication.
☞Best for: Public speakers, or anyone who struggles with anxiety and wants to find their voice with more confidence.
✦ Clear Quartz ✦ One of the Earth’s most abundant and powerful minerals. Used for centuries in both science and spirit, clear quartz is a master healer. Even in its colorless, transparent form, its luster is incredible, bringing a sense of calm and clarity to the wearer.
☞Best for: Those seeking to attract abundance and mental clarity in their work.

The Evolution of the Ring💍

Magic Stone ring vs Talisman ring
For our long-time moon girls, you’ll remember the "Magic Stone" ring. Although we’ve retired that original design, the new Talisman ring is a spiritual successor based on your many requests for its return.🎊
We’ve refined it with a "plumper" cut—it’s now a two-sided cut rather than a flat back, giving it more weight and presence. 💎We’ve also upgraded the setting from a glued band to a secure stud construction. The gem itself is larger, and we’ve added bigger cubic zirconia for even more sparkle.✨
We’ve also launched an ear cuff in the same style, designed to sit elegantly on your ear as a subtle, constant companion.
Which piece from the collection calls to you the most? I’d love to hear your thoughts.💭
In the next post, I’ll be sharing the story behind the Mantra series in our Awaken collection.Stay Tuned!
